It's the "vibe" of the thing...

  2. Aye, but it was a performance trick for engines whose air induction
capacity peaked before their capacity to introduce fuel into the
combustion chamber; the water was injected so it would dissociate and
act as a source of oxidiser, not a source of fuel.
Myeah, but it still doesn't make growing wheat for fermentation into a
fuel which engines don't tend to be tuned to burn any less of a bad
idea. If they're that hard-up for verifying that this particular
reincarnation of Lysenkoism is just as flawed as the last one, at
least they should be making biodiesel...

  3. Well, if conservative governments had been more adult about energy
conservation over the past x years, and not just patted people on the
back and concurred with them that yes, it all *is* a Commie plot to
make your V8 illegal and make you ride a pushbike to work so your dick
drops off from being mashed by the saddle and rolled between your
    thighs...

....if people weren't so easily led and so averse to first figuring
shit out for themselves, they getting off their arse to implement it,
stunts like Earth Hour wouldn't be necessary, because all the lights
in all the unoccupied rooms in all buildings on Earth already *would*
be switched off. That said, I'd rather the token gesture of Earth Hour
than something like the Australia Day ferry races on the harbour...

Flypasts by F/A-18's are off-limits though, because jet fighters are
    cool.

You think a twin ohc cam 4 litre at 350 hp is not an h/p car engine ?
by bike engine they are not by one of the jag v8's we have now running
makes over 100 bhp / litre which imho is pretty damned good a n/a motor
Which begs the question why people pay so much for rusted old foulcan
when they could by a much more comfortable merc and a modest bike or
    just a large bike...
In the context of aus.moto many things appear incongruous including
    certain persona

The local E10 is I am told generated with mix made from the local
generation plant behind the run distillery at Beenleigh , it's drummed
at 97% or better .. should burn just fine ?

I suppose it is quite good for a car engine.
I have to admit that I have long ago lost interest in the power output
of car engines, back when Jags had V-12s.

Although I have to admit I was impressed with Angie's wee Toyota getting
100Kw, no fuss, on plain ULP.
Angie's Merc rusted to death, and she's only had Toyota's ever since.

I do the small, but not modest, bike bit.
    True.

What do you suggest adding to the beer?

Well the octane of alcoholis pretty good, but you've watered it down
rather badly with all the other stuff in the beer - so I'd suggest
    pure ethanol !!

    JL
That'll give it some kick !!!

If I may respectfully disagree, it was a trick intended to compensate
for extremely poor (non adiabatic) efficiency of those primitive air
compressors bolted to many a yankee V8 (roots superchargers mostly
aka 4-71, 6-71 etc). It's primary purpose was to be a thermal soak/
    sink.

In modern times of more efficient compressors and effective
intercoolers it's a trick less resorted to (for the good reason that
it has an energy efficiency cost).

Well, sort of English..... <gritting teeth> It's all those itses with
    apostrophes that made me cringe.

    betty, no longer paid to
    be a punctuation nazi,
    so why the f*ck should
    I care? ... but I DO!!!!!

Well one of them was allowed to have an apostrophe... but you missed the
"use" for "used" (or were you refraining from comment)

no, I didn't miss it at all. (never understimate the eagle-eye!) It was a
tough judgement call - misuse of an apostrophe in 'its' - a recurrent
error - or another error ('use' instead of 'used'). I followed the "oh dear,
I see two blatant misuses of apostrophes here, perhaps I can assume this is
just another one, and the USE instead of USED is just a typo" theory.
Didn't want to appear pedantic <snigger>

I used to prefer Stones Mac (and that adds whiskey to the stones).

I could have beer chasers with stones mac :) [1]
