98 Model Fireblade Questions

Just a quick post to see if anybody has any suggestions of what to look for
in a secondhand version of above. Went past one on the side of the road
today for sale for $6700 Neg. Anything the gives out on them?

I know a '01 fireblade going for about 10k or so (i think at last check)

things to look for, 2 wheels, no gooey black stuff on ground under bike.

no visible gaffa tape or electrical tape on electrics or fairings.

no scratch marks.

doesnt sound like it swallowed a marble when started.

Chain is in reasonable nick.

$6700?!?

Where is this? If you don't want it, I'll grab it! For that sort of money,
even I'll have a Honda...

The only things I've seen people have problems with on them is the gearbox,
but that's after popping a few hundred through-the-gears wheelies too many.

 

Do tell Mike ... ????

Watch out for warped front brake rotors.

 

I think its either a 00 or a 01 fireblade, memory tells me its a '01 though.
He was asking around the $12k mark, but he may take lower offers if it was still f-sale/not sold.
