Need some help. My 1985 GL1200LTD turn signals and cornering lights
dont work. I changed the cancel unit, and turn signal switch. Switched
the flasher (relay) with the hazard relay (they are the same) and turn
signals still wont work, hazards work with either relay so I assume
relay is good. Mechanic at deaer suggested checking ground wires. They
are all good (at least the ones he suggested). Anyone have any ideas?
The speed sensor is not in the turn signal circut as it was on earlier
wings. If I wire in an automotive flasher in place of honda relay turn
signals work but wont cancel automaticly or manual, I have to move
switch to the center position. Any ideas?

This may sound dumb but, have you checked the fuse??

    Good Luck,

Geez, I cant beleive that I typed all of the first post and forgot to
mention that before the turn signals quit the main fuse had blown, it
actually looked to be a victim of old age instead of a short, very
corroded, it was almost 20 years old. All of the other fuses in the
fuse block are good and no problems with them blowing.

Ok... I'm a little confused...so the turn signals quit because the fuse
blew, and then you fixed it, or the fuse blew, you replaced the fuse, and
then the turn signals won't work now?? If its the latter... I would check
to see that you have a complete circuit at the fuse.... In other words, make
sure current passes thru the fuse to the other side....if it became that
corroded, you may have to replace the holder as well....

    Good Luck

Everything worked fine, then the main 30amp fuse blew. I made it home,
the fuel injection system has a " limp home mode " to keep running,
and it works! I replaced the main fuse, none of the others were blown.
Started the bike up and everything works but turn signals work. Main
    fuse holder is not corroded.

I remember when my oil light stayed on... i replaced the switch, still
stayed on...checked the circuit with an ohm meter, and found there was
continuity throughout.... but when I unplugged the first connector in the
circuit, i thought it odd that the light was still lit.... now that really
had me.... well it turned out that the ground wire in the tail/brake light
(yup, you read right) was the culprit... and the taillight was working with
no trouble... but apparently when cleaned up and reattached, the oil light
    worked properly.....
Its something simple... gotta be... you just need to track it
down....but it may take some time.....in the meantime.....you can always use
    hand signals....

    Good Luck...
