There are a surprising amount of people actually working in the bike
trade who've never ridden a motorcycle in their life. A few of them
actually admit to not even liking them, and at least two are in higher
management of fairly large companies. I don't see that Clarkson comes
out so bad when compared, at least he's not being hypocritical about his
    views.

Graham from GLF has been round the 'Ring with Sabine driving, she scared
him silly. He was shocked to find that she was only about 20 years old
    at the time.

I've driven with him at Millbrook, he is fairly fast through the
handling circuit. Not Tiff Needel kind of fast, but fast all the same.

I was thinking after the programme that I'd quite fancy visiting the
Nurbergring, but I really ought to learn to ride a bit better first.

Do any of the track-based schools use man-sized machines?

I don't think there was much likelihood of that: I'm so inept, I couldn't
even kill _Ginge. If I had, of course, then obviously I'd have apologised.

I'd take something sensible round, or at least suited to, the Nürburgring.

Because of the way it goes out, around and back in, IYSWIM, the whole
thing is more like 270 degrees than 180.

Sorry to butt in: <Pedant> Karusel <\Pedant>

It's one of the best bits of the circuit on a bike. Like a mini
    wall-of-death.

and only a complete wuss goes on the tarmac bit.

Well, and with you as "male company", it makes perfect sense.

Has Chris considered a career as a gigolo, do you think?

I believe the main problem is that there is a distinct, abrupt change
of camber between the inner (steeper) line and the outer. You do
*not* want to drift from inner to outer as you will get launched.

I also don't like his style of vocal delivery, or his prose. I don't
    trust his opinions much.

As far as I can see, he's just a wanker who happens to be famous
    without having any particular ability.

I don't see anything particularly hypocritical about working in a
    trade you don't like.

I write software and really couldn't give a toss about it.
