pretty close ... they had it on their system as a 100cc bike and when I
asked for the correct amount she said she would check with her boss about
honouring the quote...came back and said they would honour that quote

So I then went and paid it straight away ... now am waiting for my rego
papers so I can see if it all worked ok.......

Yeah, you got it. I'm jealous of your system of jumping through
hoops, running around the countryside, continual online conjecturing and
complaining about who's cheaper or more expensive this week and paying
to line some insurance company CEO's wallet for no real benefit to you,
bragging about how just 10 hours investigation and 28 phone calls saved
me $15, and then sending copies of everything to the MCC to show how
much I got ripped off this year - all for the privilege of being able to
ride my bike on the road - really appeals to me.

Just back from Post Office and have rego papers. So went to myRTA and the
grrenslip was there so registered the bike......ALL UP COST $179

Ok, the Insurance Comapny was Allianz and they have pretty much booked my
business for car and bike for a very long time. Didnt get the ladies name
but she was one very helpful person.

note: still waiting for a letter or phone call asking me for more
    money....just cant believe it

the difference is I didnt lie about anything. The original greenslip was
done by the bike shop and on the renewal there is nothing there that is
inaccurate ie no bike cc is mentioned

plus she said she had updated my details so next year I will be charged the
    right amount

    BUT I get your point.........

It's an insurance document. There will be, somewhere, one of those
"if you withold pertinent information" things.

If, however, the info on the doc is correct, so your policy does show
it is a 1200, then you should be OK this time.

Can you prove anything about this conversation?

Can you prove that you told them it was a 1200? Do you have anything
in writing at all to say that you have not witheld pertinent
    information?

If not, then don't hit anyone....

Why are people so cynical ?

Can they prove anything ? They send me a renewal that had a $80 offer on
it and I accepted that offer.

Just went through the whole green slip and there is no small print that says
anything remotely like that. The bike model matches exactly what is on
the rego papers and all the details are correct.

This is aus.moto discussing insurance companies, is it not?
Don't you just feel duty bound to go out and knock down some innocent
passer-by, just to test out if the insurance company will or won't pay out?
