This TLS front brake model CB200 (front hub looks same as CB175) has
suffered intermittent speedo - I've checked by replacement the speedo head
and cable and checked the speedo drive gear and driven gear by gripping the
drive tang and trying to turn the drive gear - the teeth don't slip.

That only leaves the tangs on the drive gear that engage with the milled
slot in the face of the wheel bearing housing, should the drive gear have a
spring washer behind it to push these tangs into the milled slot?

    TIA.

  2. No, but there is a large plain washer that goes between the drive and
    the inner hub.

Do you mean between the drive gear and brake plate?

  4. No. IIRC, it's on the inner side. Haven't you got a manual with a
    schematic?

Haynes #067 - P86. The speedo drive gear is #2 in the exploded view, the oil
seal for the speedo gear recess is #19, there are no washers of any
description associated with either part - a large washer between the gear
and central hub would be impossible to center/retain in place while fitting
the wheel and would separate the drive tabs from the slot milled in the hub
    bearing face.

  6. It's more of a shim than a washer, and I know it's in there somewhere
because I've dismantled loads of them.
