It seems that the 3rd party ins. co. in my minor altercation in July are
suggesting that I'm 25% responsible for the accident. Apparently I "should
have known" he was there and planning to jump the red lights, aiming very
accurately for the side of my motorcycle.

Ultimately it just makes this long-winded process even slower. Fortunately
they're now set to feel the wrath of the only witness statement to the
accident, which just happens to point out that I'm entirely blameless. Why
didn't my insurers furnish the 3rd party with the witness statement in the
    first place? <fx: disbelief>

At this rate it'll be a miracle if I have a new bike by New Year.

  2. Tell the cunts to **** off nd point out you'll be adding interest to the
damages they'll eventually have to pay.

I know you're going to tell 'em to **** off, but good luck in getting
    it sorted.

Helium emerged from their own little world to say
Good idea, but you can only claim it back if you have actually paid it out.
They won't pay compensation for the loss of use of the bike.

Ideally, Slider's own insurance would provide the vehicle and make a claim
    against the 3rd party.

As Bear says, if you have not got a solicitor involved do it ASAP.

Y'know, that's a problem I'm having at the moment. Some numpty dinged
the door of the CoCage (recently, as in May) and after loads of faffing
about, it's finally going to be repaired.

I've asked for a replacement cage whilst mine is in the garage for
three days (out of principle, like. (I'll be using the bike, anyway))
and my InsCo told me it's not possible, as the TP InsCo won't pay out
for the hire of a vehicle.

After patiently explaining (for over 20 mins) to the InsCo droid that
why should I be penalised for an accident caused by a TP, they've
finally agreed to lend me a replacement vehicle. What a fscking
    nightmare...

Get your bike looked at properly and get the fraime laser cheched for any
distortion. And claim for bike hire while your bike is being sorted.

If he jumped the lights, the accident is 100% his foult. The light are for
to tell when it is safe to cross, if the police saw him jumping the lights -
he would have 3-point on his licence or a driving ban. So tell him to
    bug-off.

Eh? With that logic, it's not a million miles removed from it being
    *entirely* your fault.

I look forward to hearing the transcript of their "Use the road at
your own peril when our client's around" defence.

It didn't in my case - i shudder to think the final bill the third party ins
    co are going to get.

    But then, I don't care.

I'm dealing through a solicitor, but they have passed on similar sentiments.

    Indeed, it's incredible isn't it.
I've got a solicitor, and believe me, the costs are mounting.

Thanks, this is the first winter in ages when I'm trapped in the confines of
a car. It may be warmer, but it adds so much time to my daily commute and
    it isn't nearly as fun.

I had a Honda Hornet hire bike for a while (at a phenominal rate), but I'm
too honest to screw them over when I can feasibly use the car to get around.
I didn't expect it to take this long mind....

Heh, I can see it now:

3rd party: "Well he /was/ using one of those monstrous death-bringing
machines without the correct number of wheels"
