I did go through an extended phase of flicking swarf off a drill bit
as it was turning, but I've got better now.

I can vividly remember my days as a white coat warrior (1) when on one
occasion I was leaning against a machine, smoking and drinking coffee
and I suddenly realised I was getting a more than gentle tug on the
bottom of my coat because it had become entangled in a slowly
revolving part of the machine. After about 30 seconds I realised that
it really did want to eat me and I started to try and get the **** out
    of it before it succeeded.

I escaped with a large bruise and a small graze on my shoulder when
the coat finally gave way because my skinny 6' frame was just that bit
too big to fit through the gap available.

Try to imagine feeding your clothes through a high powered mangle
whilst you're trying to get out of them and you get the picture...

So have I but it took a large area of skin off my finger and thumb
before I finally realised I'd never win.

Physician heal thyself. TBF, the only singles I've got in the garage now
are also two-strokes. Is this is a good or bad thing I wonder?

I never claimed my KTM was fast; in fact, I think I've mentioned the
    opposite several times.
bad, definitely. Proper two-strokes are v-twins.

I've never claimed my Nordwest was 'fast'. Just that the right single
can be the quickest on a particular section of tarmac road (never mind
off-road). I thought you might be inadvertently claiming old gimmer
    status.
True these days. Though some with rose-tinted glasses might argue
    triples or square fours.
