I drilled mine before it was even legally registered for the road, let
    alone under warranty

Might give that a go. I need to react to the grit they just put down
(frozen hard here this morning) and acf50 the bike. Methinks I'll get
the scottoiler sorted at the same time....

  5. They used to be dreadful for falling off as soon as the winter came in.
I hope the adhesive has improved.

    On a 1050 sprint?
I've used them on a box section swing arm but this single sided thing
doesn't lend itself well to zip ties.....

The only times my chain has been adjusted is when I've replaced the tyres.
Just short of 20,000 miles on the Zed and never an adjustment between tyre
    swaps.

    Like Loz says, Snottoilers rock.

I have a sneaking suspicion that he DOES have the touring pack. I guessed
this from the words "Scottoiler touring resevoir" that he wrote.

Although probably not as crap as the woman in one of this weeks bike rags
that the missus bought me. This stupid bint (not the wife, although that's
debatable seeing as she still gets on the back of my bike) managed to take
the tops off two fingers while doing "chain maintenance" with the fucking
engine running and the back wheel turning.

    Women.... know your limits.

We use stainless 'tie wraps' that you just pull up like a normal
plastic one and that's it, job done. You do need tin snips to remove
them but when you want to fix something in place on site and be
reasonably sure nobody will just come and rip it down they're great.

**** knows how much they cost for a packet because each one is about
12" long and they come in packets of 100 but I suspect you won't get
    much change out of £50.

  12. Anyone who arses about with any moving parts of any vehicle, while the
thing's running, is a bit of an idiot.

    <Thinks>

Didn't Pip manage something spectacularly silly, with a car fanbelt?
I'll have to check my DIAABTCOD numbers.

You could always Araldite them to the inside, or along the bottom of the
'arm where they can't be seen. Sort of "bury" the leg of the "P" in a blob
    of the stuff.

I usually avoid moving parts of vehicles but moving parts of machinery
are too tempting for me to ignore.

Doesn't everyone check how hot or how sharp something is by either
putting their hand on it or running their finger along it? I've lost
count of the number of minor hand injuries I've suffered by doing one
    of those two things.

Run the Scottoiler delivery pipe under the brake hose pipe on the
chainguard, drill a hole inside of that to allow the pipe to come down
the back of the shark fin and either small cable ties or P-clips to
hold it to that. That's how my Daytona 955i one was fitted and you
    couldn't see it.

  18. Oh yes. But not with *moving* hot or sharp things.
