  1. We were all up to chasing anything that day... for me it turned out to be an
    R1...
You sure couldn't ask for a better inspiration than Andy... mercy me... he's
nearly impossible to get around on the ST...

  2. Is this chasing and attempting to get around happening on highways, Larry,
    or on race tracks?

  4. I'm a racer... I'll usually race anyone anywhere... especially if it's
consummate rider like Andy... and especially if I'm challenge to out corner his
ST in a sweeper... I was surprised it took over 140 to do it... I came so close
to his bike that I had to lift my elbow to clear his mirror... mercy... however
I could not repeat the past in the next section of the riding clinic... Andy
rode the wheels off that ST and all I could do is giggle in my helmet... serious
knee dragging on a ST is hilarious... Andy proved he was the better rider... but
I appreciated the chance to shine...

Larry, it seems you relish a good tall tale in the finest Paul Bunyan
tradition. Normally I'd let this go, but your comments below make me
    look none too bright, so...

Whence came this challenge? Did I challenge you? Did someone else?
Also, have you held a racing license? If so, what organization and
    when?
Yeah, that surprises me too, considering the only time I recall riding
with you on the street was an organized riding clinic. Are you saying
that I set a pace near 140 mph? If I did, I'm really going to have to
    tone it down.
I recall this episode a little bit differently. If memory serves, you
had joined my group (about ten riders) at the beginning of the day and
were behind a few other riders when we started the ride. By the time we
arrived at our first formal stop, a couple of these riders came to me to
complain that you had passed them closely and aggressively. At that
point I asked you to chill out and you did.

It may not seem like it right now, but I like you. I'm also flattered
that you consider me a good rider. Nonetheless, I had issues with your
judgement during that group ride. Also, while I appreciate a good yarn
as much as the next guy, someone should kick my ass if your account of
my riding that day were true.

  6. Whence came this challenge? Did I challenge you? Did someone else?

I like you to Andy and it may have not been a big deal for you but for me I'll
never forget our "squiding around"... your term BTW... here's the sequence of
    events as I recall:

That morning I started with Doc's group 1 and I made the first stop at road side
coffee house... I waited for Doc to mount his Duck but then I realized he traded
bikes with someone else and had already left with group 1... that's when I
became tail end Charlie to your group 2... I began passing your group 2 to up my
pace... (I though they were good passes too)... I was 4 bikes behind you and as
leader you were just crossing a concrete bridge that arced to the right... that
when I witnessed your right hand dropping and waving for me to hurry up and come
forward... I though you were challenging me... so I gave Mr.RC45 the berries
thinking what a neat guy you where to encourage for me to try and pass you... as
I got nearer you dropped the hammer and we raced away from the group right
towards a left hand sweeper... we were side by side at a buck 40... I was
waiting for you to shut down and I think you were waiting for me to shut down...
you did I didn't... (thank you) I just remember having to move my elbow around
your mirror... I had the lead but at the next fork in the road I waited to see
what direction the group took... you lead on the right fork and I waiting to
take my place as tail end Charlie but the rest of the group motioned HELL NO...
I was to follow you... That's when we raced again and you were knee dragging
that ST like a pro... we ended up intersecting PCH 1... Doc asked what's going
on and you said "Larry and I were squiding around"... next we traded bikes and
rode PCH 1 to a lunch shack... that's when I made a few hair balls passes aboard
your ST trying to stay with you on Mr.RC45... at the restaurant I remarked that
your rear shock was "claped out" and you answered with that you have "grown use
    to it"...
Andy my friend... you are a racer... quit downing yourself for racing... you're
going to race no matter if your butt is kicked or not... riders would hate you
for that... but you're such a nice guy... we are the ones who love getting our
    butts kicked...
