The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by
the server. The rejected e-mail address was ''. Subject
'dresses', Account: 'Heather Day', Server: 'mail.btconnect.com', Protocol:
SMTP, Server Response: '550 Recipient Not Authorised [recipient rejected
due to no authorised destination groups]', Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server
    Error: 550, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

    Eh? wtf does that mean?

Have problems sending to AOL addresses from my yahoo account, try sending
it via webmail instead? I find it's my router that bodges things up and
    AOL rejects the mail.

It means BT don't want to send email to AOL.

This is because AOL is considered a spammers heaven. A view more than
supported by the evidence of my "Blocked list".

  6. Was this in response to a mail you sent, or just arrived out of the
    blue?

There's a fair amount of spam and/or virus-carrying mail going round,
pretending to be this sort of "rejection" email.

    Asume this is through OE.
Your ISP will not support you sending mail through a different system.
In OE> go to accounts>Your name>properties>servers and insert your ISP's
    smpt address.

Wrong. His SMTP server is rejecting the recipient, not the sender

  15. I used to work for them, after they sucked CompuServe into their unholy maw.

  17. Wouldn't have been the case when they were owned by H&R Block. Nowdays,
    they're just an AOL brand.

This was pre-AOL, 1980-something. Cancelled my account without notice
when a monthly credit-card payment failed (due to cc company error).
As it happend, saved me the bother of cancelling the account, which I
had just been about to do.
