Anyone know how to open one of these? http://twitpic.com/bfznx - 3COM
    Basline switch

The fans are really noisy and I'd like to swap them over then sell it.
It was a freebie to me and I have no use for a switch of this size in
    my 1 bed flat.

    Thanks

  2. That looks similar to the old superstack hubs. For those you unscrew 2
screws in the base and the cover levers off the back.

Well, did you get it open, we're on tenterhooks here ...

I thought you meant one of the 3com officeconnect hubs like this

They are a bugger to get open, I had the same, noisy fans ...

If you want it, I can stick it on the UR, it's certainly smaller than
    your behemoth. 10/100, 8 port.

    Cheers,

    Paul.

Yeah, sorry, cheers guys. The advice gave me the confidence to put
    some brute strength into it.

I'd already taking the screws out but it was the bits that are
supposed to slide out that were wedged.

Now I'm trying to figure out how to get the fans out.

Once again a bit of brute force. Cool stuff, right am ready to order a
couple of fans and stick it on eBay.

Probably blindingly obvious, but what's "the UR"?

    Thanks again

    Damn it, underground railway.

I'm not really in the need for one of these. A guy at my last job gave
it to me and I'm just going to flog it once I've replaced the fans.

Someone somewhere will want it. Hopefully.
