....is what I've just got in from covering, on my 'new' SOB, riding it home
from the previous owners humble abode.

F reg XJ600 ("Pre-Derision Model"), in surprisingly good original condition.

No hiccups at all really, bar when I stopped to fill it up in North London a
bit earlier, when I started it back up, it appeared to have a sticky
camchain tensioner than didn't free off the whole section I spent plodding
across London to the A2 from Mill Hill.

The other niggles, are the clutch slips a little, if you're a bit hamfisted
when 'aving it large' through the gears - apparently it has synthetic oil at
the mo; are these affected in the same way as Hondas seem to be, clutch
    wise, if you use this?

The cable seems a bit tight too, so that'll be being lubed in the next few
    days.

And... one fork seal looks like it'll need replacing imminently.

All in all, it seems like a really good buy, given it has a Motad N-eta full
system, all the discs look recent, the paint is all original, and in March,
£380 was spent on it doing things like new chain and sprockets, oh, and
everything works, even all the ikkle lights in the clocks.

The price was the initial attraction... but seemingly having now gone and
got it, it's actually a bloody nice bike to ride that I've been pleasantly
    surprised by. :)

  2. They are nice bikes - quick and surprisingly torquey. How much?

This one feels a bit flat between 5 and 6.5k... not that the Motad would be
    causing that, eh.

    450 of your English pounds.

Front tyre might need doing soon due to sidewall cracking, but this helps to
confirm the 33k on the clock is almost certainly genuine.

Lovely bike to ride, and I reckon it might be quite easy to embarass much
bigger stuff through some of my favourite twisties on it.

Hell, it even has a really good headlight, something which makes you wonder
what they were thinking when they then several years later, brought out the
    Fazer.

I've got one with 44,000 miles on it. Good nick and runs like clockwork.

I use fully synth and have no problems at all with clutch slip.

I have been very pleased with mine. It takes off nicely at 7k. ;-) Just
check what kind of regulator/rectifier is fitted. If you have a finned
type you'll probably be fine. If it's a small flat box I would think
about changing it. It's the only fault I have had and since sorting it,
it has been totally trouble free.

    Enjoy.

  5. Bleedin' bargain. Even cheaper than my GPz550.
