    Just had my cholesterol checked:

    Cholesterol = 4.38
    HDL = 1.07
    LDL = 2.89
    TriGlycerides = 0.90

    The average for the western population is 5.5, with a higher HDL:LDL ratio.

    Blood pressure is IIRC 180/82 although don't quote me.

    Don't stand near me. You are going to burst.
    Those units are mm of mercury so it's about 2.5psi.

    I'll try and burst quietly and promise to clean up the mess ;->

    I can't remember the actual blood pressure numbers although they were
    apparently fine and the nurse wasn't using a mercury device it was a
    calibrated dial type pressure guage. Anyhow that wasn't the point of
    the post.

    SWMBO has decided that I'm going to get checked out next week whilst at
    the arthritis clinic (it's all go here, I tell you).

    She claims that a diet of bacon, eggs, red wine and clotted cream is bad
    for me, but as I keep pointing out, Dr A. knew better.

    Pah!
    Cholesterol = 2.9
    HDL = 0.8
    LDL = 1.8
    TriGlycerides = 0.5

    Lowest Cholesterol Bupa in Reading had ever seen. They had
    heard of someone with lower in a London clinic though.

    Christ, I'm bored/boring.

  13. You have my sympathies. I too get to sit in a dingy hospital corridor
    with assorted crumblies at the arthritis clinic[1]
    Sounds fine to me.. last time my cholesterol level was measured
    is was less than 2.2...

    So far a stone, which I am happy with, the most notable difference was
    in the trouser department i.e. narrower waist and larger libido (prolly
    due to the hormones in the beef)
