  2. One month ago. Safety reasons. Too bad but justified.

  3. Safety reasons is the knee-jerk pretext. If you are a politician and manage
to make a slogan integrating the words "safety" and "children", you have a
winner. The ominous thing lying behind is that a Belgian lobby wants to get
rid of any form of motorsports (in the long run), following the same lines
which have motivated Pennsylvania Amish peaple to ban any sort of vehicle
not moved by horses, or clothes which are fastened with anything more
industrial than loop-and-peg. Similarly, one deadly accident has been used
to shut down Jehonville road circuit last year. Belgium is becoming an "ape
cage" where you are allowed so much, no more. Watch this space.

  4. OK I don't know alll the political issues with Spa, I just know that the FIM
requested some work for safety reason some months before on the track and
    the owner didn't do it.
I've been to Spa last month for club training and the track is fantastic...
at club level. Now it's hard to imagine 60 bikes, 180HP, racing in the
night, on the wet, in Blanchimont.
