Probably a bit more - there's entry fees to pay (about
£120 per weekend, of which there are six) then servicing,
petrol, transport, ACU fees, training, etc. But in all
I'm looking to spend about 3 grand max.

The good thing is that I should be able to sell the bike
on next season and recoup some of the cost. Or just put
it back on the road. "Much loved, never raced," etc.

  4. It depends on the actual cost of the bike, if it blows up and how
big a job he does when he lobs it. If he can pick up a useable bike
for £1500 then another £1500 should see him through 6 races as long
as the initial costs like ACU approved training are written off as
starting costs the same as leathers etc and not actual race costs.[/QUOTE]

This is Ant. I'm *counting* on him lobbing it.

Look, if you're pissed and they're pissed just urinate on them; they'll
never notice your contribution and think it's themselves.

Oh that's easy: Just ensure the mounting bolts on the twin shocks are
    tight.

  11. Sound thinking, that man.

Of course, if they wake up and find themselves being targeted by a dozen
well-aimed jets of ukrm urine, they might get a tad suspicious.

Not sure it's worth it for only a weekend, I plan to do some proper week
or two long Europe trips in '05 instead..

Well one of my trips involves going East, very east.

I've never been to Spain, but maybe.. they've got the second highest
pass after the col de la bonette, haven't they?

I was thinking of "Europe: Top to Bottom" for a big trip.

    Nordkapp to Gib.

Only a 7628 mile round trip, it seems, with little chance of eating
    sheep testicles on the way.

"Hello? BMW? Can I have a free bike please?"
