Using the patented Mavis Beacon "Hunt&Peck" Technique, dwb
Is it just me, or is anyone else reminded strongly of the paper cut-out,
fold and glue R1 that Yamaha did a while ago?

Looks quite similar in places to me.

Actually, every crash I've had, I've broken both the mirrors and the
indicators, but that would have detracted from my point.

I did crack a mirror on someone's car mirror once while going round
the outside of them on a roundabout.

My old 750 indicators were on flexible stalks so that they bend up in
a crash and act as crash protectors rather than just snap off. The
Thou ones are solid and I guess will snap off in a crash. Wonder why
    they changed the design.

Titanium Nitride, except black rather than the gold on mine.

  12. I know what you mean.

I hope it lasts better; my paper Vmax is looking a bit, well,
second-hand at the moment. Kind of droopy...

If it hadn't been facing the wrong way, I'd have said it was impossible. As
it had spun 180 degrees, it's just plausible that it tankslapped, started to
fall over, the stand dug into the road spinning the bike round, and flipping
the stand down in the process. Were there skid marks along the road from the
two contact points of the stand?

    Still bloody freaky though.

    Monkey says...
There were some scrapes on the road where something on it had obviously
hit the tarmac hard, but nowhere near as much damage to the bike as we
expected it to have considering the speed we were doing when I bailed
    out.

I suspect that you're referring to crashes a somewhat higher speeds
than I like to have. I've not come off at more than 20mph in, ooh,
must be twenty years, at least.

But the indicators _always_ break. The only time a mirror broke
(snapped the stalk) was last year, when it got pushed over onto the
side of an A-H Sprite in a Paris carpark. At 0mph. And both lh
indicators were broked too. For 'no longer held into fairing' values
    of broke, at least.
