    It's probably a pre-production bike.

Is it part of new legislation [1] regarding the fitment of aftermarket
    part?

[1] I read something a few months ago.

Bet you will. It just means that a link pipe has to replace the section
from the can to the headers, maybe adds 5 minutes to the job.

There are plenty of bikes where this is the case my old R6 was one, just
look for bikes where the bolts aren't actually on the endcan!

Are the wheels slightly different ?

It seems the "spokes" seem narrower compared to

The last crash I had, the bike didn't fall over. The crash before, the
bike ended up side down resting on it's seat and handle bars.

Probably something to do with increasing the size of the catalyst with
the aim of improving gas flow.

Or I could be completely wrong.

Something very useful I've found about the '6R - when you stick it in a
gravel trap, the indicators pop off, rather than break. Held in the fairing
by a rubber gromit-type thingy, see. All you need to do is push them back in
and tighten a compression plate. Now why don't they all do that?

I broke the LH mirror in the first gravel trip, even though I went down on
the RH side. The large bruise I had suggested I knocked it off with my leg
as I went over the bars.

It's hand welded. The production bikes will prolly be welded by proper
    robots.
I wouldn't trust that swing arm weld either, it looks cracked in the HAZ.

Yep looking through my broken bits collection indicators go more
    often than mirrors.

R&G should make luminescent crash indicator bungs, with optional
    mirror finish.

I had a crash at approx 80mph which left the bike ticking over undamaged
on the centre stand in the centre line of the road. Strange but true.

    Nope, it's a crack.
That bit right at the bottom of the weld looks more like undercut.

It happened around the time that the film of that name was doing the
rounds. We daren't call it that in case it tried to kill us as we slept.
