yeah, I like it too - but it's still fucking ugly. Not as ugly as the
Speed Four though - that's a piece of shit, and no mistake.
all their bikes are ugly, just some more than others.

steve auvache left a note on my windscreen which said:
I wouldn't have a Harley. Can't see much fun in them. YMMV

Don't knock them. A lot of folks forget that yer Hardly is the perfect
bike if you like doing your own maintenance, on a per mile basis.

I am surprised Lozzo isn't a fan of them actually.

steve auvache bored us all completely to death with wittery prose along
    the lines of:
Really not my style. Considering I've got a Rat at home, it does show.

Pah. The Harley's just another cruiser. I'm talking about true Art Deco
    style.

  7. ho yuss, I couldnt be bothered to go over to OYT to have *loud*
conversations but if I'm ever in the area I'm going to go and make
sure people know exactly how *shite* they are.

    Flitwick Motorcycles *rock*

BTW, to the original poster, I have a B6 and a trumpet, although not
the triple and I know which I prefer to commute on and which to use
    for pleasure.

Maintenance is fine if you get pleasure from riding the bike.
Unfortunately Harley's don't give me any pleasure at all, apart from
being justifiably able to rip the piss out of their owners.

I thought it was because he was obviously used to bikes that needed a lot of
    fixing.

I can't say I was over-fond of them, but they do grow on you and they
    sound quite nice.

The Z750 looks very similar, with a more conventional exhaust system.
Also cheaper suspension, but then you get it for a significantly lower
price. You can pick up a new one for £5k.

I quite liked the idea of the 900 Ducati Monster. But I'm not sure what
    the reliability's like these days.

The other interesting choice, imho, is a Bandit with some work done to it.

I can't speak for the Speed Triple, but my Tiger's been reliable, and
after five years of minimal care nothing's fallen off, nor looks likely
to and all the paintwork is in good condition.

I'd recommend you don't limit yourself now. Get an idea of what sort of
thing you want and buy whatever comes along first at the right price.

I think I might start charging you storage costs in toast and marmite.
But you have to eat it.

Of course, crumpets are better, where the Marmite sinks in and fills up
all of the holes. One of them would be worth a week.

Fresh coffee, orange&grapefruit juice and a couple of croissants works
    fine for me.
