That's odd, I have no recollection of AW ever paying anyone to bodge a
    T100 as a Daytona.

Sorry it must have been someone else that posted pics of a T100 that
had been lashed up as a Daytona lookalike, with details of someone in
Kent who had done the work on it............my mistake.

Again I stand corrected...............I must be quite wrong in thinking
that T100's had single carb heads. Its gratifying to see that those on
here know even more about Triumphs, than the factory that used to
    produce them!

    Some did, some didn't.
Go and find JR Nelson's books.
A good one is "The development history of the pre-unit and unit
construction 500cc Twins" JR Nelson, (Haynes) ISBN 0-85429-489-9
Another : "The Triumph Tiger 100/Daytona, pre-unit and unit construction
models 1939-1959 and 1960-1974". (JR Technical Publications)
Les William's site is a sort of portal to JR Technical publications, I'm
sure you can find it easily enough ...

Plus of course it says in big, bold letters on Andy's webpage[1] that
it's been rebuilt as a T100 "but with a Daytona spec engine".

Unfortunately Ken seems to struggle with reading comprehension. He sees
the words, but by the time he's loaded them into his little brain,
they've morphed into something entirely different.

Your particular bike looks like a cobbled up old bone, which is fitted
with many parts that are just not right, and in the case of the exhaust
make the bike a pig to ride!

Only have a couple of Honda trials bikes at the
moment...............but when I restore an old Brit bike, I do make the
effort to keep it as std as poss, and try to put it together as the
factory intended, rather than incorporate the type of mods favoured by
spotty 18yr old youths in the 1960's.

On Fri, 10 Feb 2006, Krusty typed this :
    (T100 carbs)
I tell you what - I had a full fried breakfast this morning, with chips,
and in the last seven hours it has morphed almost entirely into gas.
During this time I had a fairly long meeting with my solicitor and the
trapped wind was becoming bloody painful, and there is nothing in any
etiquette book that I've read that teaches a chap how to fart discretely
and without odour, while in the presence of legal counsel. Ta - bookmarked.

    (snip)
What the factory intended was not always what goes together best for the
individual needs of the genius who is bodging the thing.
Spotty 18yr old youths in the 60s rode Lambrettas. Triumph owners were
of course bronzed, handsome, brave, intelligent and muscular heroes.

If your bike is a Daytona, then its meant to have twin carbs, but its
pretty difficult to tell what its meant to be, as it seems to have been
built out of any parts that came to hand, rather then with any regard
    for originality, or indeed function!

I dont need to look it up you stupid prick.............I used to work
on Triumphs, and unlike yourself dont need to look things up, and pay
others to make half hearted attempts at restoration
