Basically look very carefully for signs of abuse/bodging, and at things
like big end, kickstart ratchet/gears for any signs of
wear............though if you do have past experience of Brit bikes you
shouldnt have any major problems at all!

  3. Best to use ·880 ammonia and tincture of iodine and as long as it's
throwing a precipitate, you can keep adding it.

HOWEVER - a little bit of the stuff goes a long way.

And it doesn't last for ever, even in the mixing container - has to be
    used up fairly quickly.

It's not very clever stuff to mess with. If you want to make explosions
stick to something that requires a fuse.

It sets fire to those who don't trim sigs. :)

    ..
    Sorry.

What's the problem with not trimming sigs exactly? I've no idea.

I remember two lads at school who got too close to stuff like this at
the wrong time. I think the total tally was 2½ fingers and one thumb.

    Hmm.

Thing is, it's actually a proper, well-put-together SF story.

Yea. Good job they didn't sit on it and become rendered arseless.

On a reply, most mail software trims the sig separator and anything below.

Some of it not very clever, and trims at the first one it comes across.
This leaves none of the text one might want to quote, which means
discarding the reply and beginning again, and trimming it out yourself.

That doesn't sound like NI3 - I have always understood that it is pretty
    harmless, despite the bang.

It was something to do with making bangs, and one of them had made some
    (I think) Silver Nitride.
