Are there any other 2 stroke ~250cc road bikes (that are reasonably
    abundant) other than the following?

    Suzy RGV250
    Yammy RZ250/350
    Yammy RD200/250
    Honda NSR150/250
    Kwaka KR1

Aprillia's are out of my price range, unfortunately.

I cant think of any more at the moment, can anyone add to the list?

    Cheers,
    Derek

Not really, althought there is also a Kwaka KR1S, but to take a couple
off the list.....there wouldn't be many RD200's about nowadays, and most
of the RD250's have "magically" grown to 350 by now. The Honda NSR250's
    are also fairly rare beasties.

About the same age as the RD200 would be the Suzi X5(200) and X7(250)
    which you might find.

    Yammy TZR250
(was gunna say Kwaka KR prior to the KR1, but then would have to throw in
the Suzi RG250 and Yammy LC250... maybe I should just go report myself to
    aus.mediawatch.nitpick....)

I was kinda hoping that nobody would mention them....... :-(

I have this 'orrible feeling that if I hear of or found one for sale, I
might be in serious trouble with the boss.

They can take a direct head on hit from a 'roo too. Did bend the frame
    a wee bit though :-(

    Cheers,
Ash(it didnt do the rider any favours either!)

My brother had one and upgraded to the 350.

Didn't Suzuki make a 250 triple in the seventies? Or was that a 350?

The 380. Of course. I knew there was a smaller one than the 550.
    Ram-Air heads even.
We had everything from a Mac Velo, Matchless, Ariel, BSA, Triumph,
Suzuki, Yamaha, Ducati (singles and twins), Kwak, Honda, Harley,
Guzzi, Bultaco (Metralla), Vespa, Lambretta, Motobecane, Silver
Pigeon, Norton, Benelli, Aprillia, and I've probably missed some. As
long as it had two wheels, we rode it.

Leo and I had two Ducatis each, I had a Trump, Bob had a Jawa and a Hobby
scooter (Czech) but other than that we just stuck with the Jap-bikes.

(Ooh ooh; Pete had a Rotax-engined ultralight... does that count?)

We're counting ultra-lights? I'll have to ask my brother in Newman
    what engine he's got.

I've only ever seen one photo of his plane. Maybe it doesn't have one.

When you've got enough siblings, somebody has done or got something.

In KP's case, it's not just his siblings that have had enough.
