Same here. I don't need a camera phone. But I wanted Bluetooth, IRDA and
a decent (colour) screen. And it had to be Ericsson (because Nokia have
broken their Bluetooth implementation). The only options I found were a
T610 and Z600. T-Mobile offered me a T610 for £30 as an upgrade, or over
    £100 for a Z600......

Download cheezy midi tunes from the internet and use them as ringtones.
    That's vaguely amusing.

For about 1/2 hour. Then I got bored of it.

Stuck with 'Wind it Up' for now - it's the best I've heard so far.

BTW: Where have you been downloading from?

Purely for research purposes, how do I get the midi files onto the phone?

None of the software supplied seems to be able to do it. I have W2K and
    and IR connection.

    Oh My Dear God...

I've managed to transfer a (full) copy of Maryland [1] and the
    Internationale. Man those cheezy barricades...

Have you found anywhere decent to grab the midi files from?

You'd be _much_ better off grabbing a cheapo Bluetooth adaptor - about
    20 quid these days.

I've been making plans for the SOMZ today...... ex-biker mate at work
reckons a matt camoflage green with a red hammer and sickle on the tank.
    I tend to agree ;-)

except, and I'm sure Sweller will correct me if I'm wrong, the East
German flag was the standard german flag, with a sort of circle with a
hammer and protractor affair inside. On the other hand, I like the
other one they had, which was red, sure, but featured a (proletariat)
hand grasping an armalite rifle (with an inlaid red flag flying from
    the barrel)...

Well, yes. But I was just thinking of the commie rat-bike look, really.

I'll have a google for East German stuff, mind.

  13. I recall seeing an SRX600 in olive green with a 5-pointed red star on either
side of the tank. Looked v. Russian...

Dividers of the architect and hammer of the builder and, IIRC, was
    referred to as the kranz.

sorry - I know it's incorrect, but in NI, "armalite" is used to refer
    to the AK47.

Without wishing to be picky, the IRA used AR-180 Armalites which had been
made under licence by Howa of Japan.

AFAIR the only soviet military equipment that carried a red star were
    aircraft.

Army stuff carried a red and yellow circle with SE on it.

Really? I've got a mental image of a T52 with a red star on the
turret. Maybe it's just from Hollywood.
