Hey people, I'm looking for one of these babies. Anyone got any idea what
price I'd be paying for a fully restored katana (to original specs).
Cheers. I found one for $7200AU

  2. Sounds cheapish to me, if it's really as new.

No offense, but how do you expect someone in the UK to know what
they're worth in Oz? I don't think anybody around here knows the market
    down under that well...

True. I was just thinking that a perfect restored 1100 Katana
(obviously, assuming it is that good), for the equivalent of 3000 quid,
is something of a bargain in UK terms. My local dealer last year
flogged what is the *best* Katana I've seen since they came out
(utterly original, ultra-low miles, and looking like it was new) for
    6k.

Privately, I'd expect a perfect original Katana to fetch ukp4000 over
here, but so few are that good, whatever the adverts say. Problems with
the early ones include the black chrome exhausts (notoriously
corrosion-prone, and later changed to bright chrome) and that two-tone
    suede seat.

A Katana is on my ever-growing wish list.....

That's fair enough I guess - I just seem to remember that all those
funny import cars I've been looking at recently seem to have a somewhat
different price structure compared to the UK.

Chances are that there's a similar difference in the SOB subculture as
    well.
Hmm. Rather expensive they are then...

And that suede seat was a stupid idea, wasn't it?

Sir wants planning permission for a garage extension then. Mind ewe,
the house finance commitee may have something to say about that as
    well...

While choking on an orange the asphixiatingly tight latex collar began to
take effect as *TOG@Toil, ,* gapsed to
    *uk.rec.motorcycles.classic* with a dying breath:
Would sir care for a test ride on this abomination???
