    Hi there

My friend has just acquired an 1980 rm125 motor, but alas it has no
kickstart.....and trying to find one is proving futile. So my question
is will another suzuki kickstart from the same era be transferrable
perhaps...any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Do you just want the kickstarter lever, or is the kickstarter shaft and
    the internal parts missing too?

You can look at online parts fiches at www.partsfish.com and see which
models have kickstarters that look like they would fit. But Suzuki made
a lot of generic parts that fit a lot of different engines, so they
would be interchangeable and the correct part for
your RM125 may fit a TS125 or some other Suzuki dirt bike and have the
    very same part number.

Maybe you can haul the RM down to your local salvage yard and ask the
guys there if they have a box full of assorted unidentified kick
starters you could go through to see which one fits the kickstarter
    shaft.
