1978 kawasaki KL250 won't run right(Plz read)

    Thank you for reading.. I have a 1978 Kawasaki KL250 when i try to kick
    start it the thing won't do anything.. But if you spray fuel into the carb
    it will start but won't stay runnig on its own.. You have to kepp twisting
    the throttle very quickly to keep it going.. Once you let off on the
    throttle it stalls..
    Things i've checked.. I do have spark but it's orange i think it might
    be like that because i'm not running a battary.. Compression 4 to 5 kicks
    i have 125psi.. Carb i pulled apart cleaned out and the needle and seat
    from inlet side will hold 6" of vaccum..
    I'm hopeing someone can get me in the right direction on what to check
    for next or had a similar problem..
