    I recently acquired a '74 cb360, and, after substantial repairs, I'm
about ready to put her on the road (and in front of a PA state DMV
inspector), but I've run into a problem with the exhaust. I have an
original exhaust, but both sides are heavily rusted, though the j-pipes
are still good. I'd love to get a good original exhaust, but this
isn't a restoration job, so I'd be happy with any aftermarket that
would work. Unfortunately, the way the bike is designed, the center
and side stands are retained by rubber bumpers mounted directly to the
exhaust. With the pipes off the bike, the center stand drags on the
chain! I've never seen an aftermarket exhaust that incorporates such
a feature, and the idea of metal on metal contact (if I just let the
stands rub against aftermarket pipes) is NOT appealing. Has anyone
figured out a simple way to deal with stand retention so that using an
aftermarket exhaust, either on this bike or others with a similar
configuration, is possible? If so, I'd love to hear it. Suggestions
for a good looking aftermarket setup would be appreciated. (And I hate
the look of the 2 into 1 some people have going on this bike) Thanks!

By the way, I do have a few extra parts for this bike and a '72 cb350
if anyone needs something in particular.

You might visit: http://www.vjmc.org/ and share your
parts/ask your questions over there. They've got plenty
of Japanese owners there, with years of experience(s).

  3. Pattern cans have the mounts for the rubber bungs. Failing that, why not
attach a rubber bung to the centre stand itself?

You might find some reasonable on ebay, particularly if you're not too fussy
    about getting a perfect set.
