Can anyone tell me where I might find any info about a 1929 Blackburne
    engine?
It is a 500cc OHV single exhaust port Blackburne.
    The engine number is GCR1066.
It has MC5532A cast on the flange at the bottom of the cylinder barrel.
Is there any way of tracing where it went to from the factory or what
    it was fitted into?
It was not put into its current frame until recently.
It was bought as an engine only in the 70's or 80's.

  2. Is it definitely a bike engine? It might be worth x-posting to
uk.rec.engines.stationary as somebody might know something about it.
Blackburne rings a bell as far as SEs go and somebody might have access
to factory info relating to yours, whether bike or stationary.

It is a definately a bike engine. Many were used in Cotton bikes.
I will try the SE group.
    Thanks for the pointer.

  5. My thought exactly. Many bike makers used an off-the-shelf engine and
    mated it to a gearbox.
