  3. good - in that you won't get murdered by islamic terrorists. It's only a
matter of time before problems start where you are IMO.

It'll be interesting to see if the Moto GP round actually goes ahead if
the problems in Saudi start to escalate beyond the current danger
    levels.

Nah - it's not that. There's organisational changes afoot in my firm.
It could work out really well if I handle it right, but I expect it to
be a fine line between success and failure.
I don't think there's going to be any problems in Qatar. The Qataris
are so keen on being the next Dubai that they'll soon sort out any
problems. And anyway, Qatar is pretty progressive and non-fundamental
    - gosh, women can drive and take jobs, and everything.

  5. OK but I do worry about you being blown to pieces.

I am convinced that the whole region is about to go bang. Al qaeda has
got a very clear strategy and it has inside help to allow it to be
delivered. They have decided they want control of the oil - in the same
way as the US does - and therefore it is a fight to the death. They know
if they can plunge the Gulf into turmoil that the western world plunges
into economic chaos. The fact that the battle is polarised with the west
makes it all the more attractive to Al Qaeda IMO.
If Saudi goes pop along with Iraq destabilising (post 30 June) I don't
think the Qataris stand a chance.

secured a place in history by writing:
Me, but because I've never had a bike that could do it, indicated or
otherwise. And I've never got near it in this country, 'cos I value my
licence and don't trust the roads. The continent is a different matter
    however.

The crucial line in that article the OP posted, in my view, was 'If these
people are involved in a collision at this speed they will kill someone'.
Well duh. If you have a collision at 70mph, you'll probably kill someone.
The idea is that you don't do 160mph in an area where you're likely to have
an accident - e.g. heavy traffic. If you're on a deserted motorway, you
might as well be on a deserted airstrip.

Fine, unless you have an accident when you're not expecting it. Accidentally
    obviously.

Err, do you have some wierd sort of GPS that doesn't have a max speed
counter? Easy enough to manage - wedge the GPS somewhere it'll get a
good signal (in the front of the fairing works for me), ride up to a
given indicated speed and hold it as close as you can for a few
seconds, then stop and read the max speed off the GPS. Reset and
    repeat as appropriate.

I tried it at an indicated 100 and 200kph, with 91 and 184 being
recorded on the GPS. It's not foolproof, of course, as it's quite
difficult to maintain a _steady_ 200kph and the GPS won't always react
instantly, depending on signal, but with a couple of attemps it should
    be fairly reliable.

You're obviously one of those comedians that needs the old 'ba-doom
tish' to tell the audience when to laugh.

Join the club. If I'd been handing out numbers for this you'd be up
there in triple figures by now, I reckon.
