16" tyres, anything sporty?

Thinking about turning an old unused Kwak GPZ500S into some sort of
shite racebike [1]. It is the only 16" bike in Spain and no sports
    tyres are available.

AFAIR, there was a 16" wheels VFR400 in the UK, innit? Any source of
    Supercorsa-like or slick tyres?

[1] Merkins and Brazilians do race them, Google for EX500 racebike.
Also the not-so-far-from-Barcelona [2] French 500 Cup is open to this
    bike.

[2] Nogaro, Pau and Ledenon circuits are closer than Cartagena,
Albacete, Jarama, Almeria and those where most Spanish races take
place. Thanks Catalan government for keeping Montmelo fucking expensive
    and Calafat fucking shite.

An easier / better course of action might be to try and source a pait
of 17" wheels from one of the later models of the GPz500, which will
give you access to modern tyres. Even if you can find a source of 16"
tyres, they're not going to be very up to date, and you'll have this
problem every time you want a tyres.

Yes, problem is that a solution for the rear brake drum to disc
    conversion should be found.

Then one should consider the typical CBR 600 F2 wheels & fork plus ZX6R
swingarm... and compare to the cost of a '88 CBR 600 (900 EUR, running
    and TüV ready)

The GPZ and GPX 600R's were 16" F&R, if that's of any use.
