12th October Sunday – Festival of Italian Motorcycles at the Melbourne
Museum, Carlton
Held on the Festival Plaza adjacent to the Museum entrance. FREE. Enter
via Rathdowns St. From 10am to 2pm. There will be the usual trophies for
best in class, with over 20 classes (judging at noon). BUT the idea is
to get as many Italian bikes there whatever their condition or age.
Plenty of bike parking. All welcome. Usual trade displays and
food/coffee available.
Note two rides to the venue are planned - depart at 10 am from Cafe
Racer in St. Kilda or QPO Cafe (cnr. Cotham and High sts. Kew)

 

What a pity. Can't make it. I'm in Kuala Lumur this weekend.
Nothing much to do on Sunday but go have a look at the Malaysian GP.

Didn't see you at the track, Hatz.

I was in the reserved Ducati seating area, guest of the Ducati club.

I had a chat before the race with a honcho from the Ducati race team, who
asked my opinion about what the weather was going to do. I said it would
hold off for the race[1]. and we discussed tyre choices. He took my advice
and used the dry tyres[2]. So I guess that makes me a consultant to the
Ducati race team. Pity you didn't make it. See you at PI? I'll be the one
in the Ducati Corse T-Shirt.

[1] OK, so Wingman helped out just a bit with his local knowledge.
[2] Oddly enough, all the other teams used dry tyres as well. They must
have overheard....
