  10. It was somewhere around Barstow, on the edge of the desert, when the
I'd have thought a hooker was the ultimate capitalist.

My generation got the looks, it just skipped a child from elder sister
to younger sister, leaving me out. Caz is the spitting image of my
little sister, but with darker hair.

She didn't look like a shipyard welder, her minder however almost
certainly had a day job as a railway buffer in Frankfurt station.

Correct, my GPZ1100 and my KE100 were that colour, and they were
    undoubtably pink.

GPZ1100s only came in Firecracker red when I bought mine. It was an
immaculate 5K mile, 18 month old GPZ1100B2 that I got for 500 quid in
1983 cos it sounded like the bottom end had grenaded. With a totally
fucked engine it was almost worthless, so I gave **** all for it. The
banging noise was unbearable even on tickover, but I rode it away
thinking that it was fucked anyway, so a few more miles won't make any
    difference.

Turned out to be the starter clutch bolts had fallen out. Cost to repair
was a tenner. It was fixed by the mechanic at the Kawasaki dealers I
worked part-time for within an hour of me buying it, and I rode back to
the seller's house that evening to pick up the handbook and some odds
and sods on it. The seller almost cried when he heard it ticking over
quietly on his driveway. I kept it for 18 months and sold it for a tidy
    profit.

I had the choice of two bikes or my car at the time, but it was a sunny
evening and I had a new bike to play on. What would you have taken?
