4. Really?

The colours I know are :
blue and brown (early years), silver, black (with green pin-stripes),
red, emerald green.
Mine was orange. Could have been resprayed, but very well done if so.

Ged no. I'm looking for something probably 15 or more years old, 500cc or
under, 350lbs or less, kickstart only, single cylinder, skinny Roadrunners
on spoked wheels and at least one drum brake.

You bitch. I've managed to come to terms with my preternatural
undesirability, and I don't need you kicking over the traces.

Look, I've wanted a big Guzzi ever since Bill Haylock and Mike Nicks did a
R90S/750-S3 comparo in BIKE in '75. But I also want something light and
nimble and minimalist for humbling power rangers and solitary
continent-crushing.

....and poppet valves, but no more than two per cylinder.

I've got a copy of that somewhere; it had an MZ Supa 5 review as well,
IIRC.

That is very true. They're not fast, quite primitive, and spartanly
equipped. But they are fun.
I still reckon the XT made a better road bike...

Well I did say three was just a start. Anyhoo, the early 4-cyl blings
were still broadly in the category "bike", rather than "behemoth".
Platy's just not big enough for the later models.
What I don't understand is this constant pratting around with crappy
stuff that's not going to do the job. Why not get a 2nd-hand gixxer
thou, a tatty one for a couple of grand, and live with it for a while.
Then try the same with a wing. Neither of them's going to lose much
dosh in a couple of month's use.

I used to have, but it's gone missing. ISTR them remarking on the S3's
"clubman" riding position...

19. BSA 250 Round Tank, 1925 model?

(Our club has one, and the other brake is a bicycle-type affair, so it
counts as one drum brake.....)
