darsy was never a contender; Blaney was but went to a hot country and the
others were too fucking poofy to sit on a small bike and get cold and wet
    for 1200 miles.

    We fucking rock.

I took an exceptionally lucrative job in the Middle East, which
started two weeks before the run.

Job: A regular activity performed in exchange for payment, especially as
    one's trade, occupation, or profession.

    Made me smile, poignant bits:

Sean waxing lyrical about CG125's at 70mph.

Big Tony (?) pointing out the oil puddle beneath the MZ, followed by you
    nonchalantly having a quick look.

Sean finding something amusing about the MZ's side panel.

The whole entourage cruising up a wet, foreign motorway.

I wish I'd have done it too now, but reckon the TS50 would have been pushing
    things too far..

*sigh*, one of the best weekends of my biking career and possibly the
    one I feel proudest about.

Coincidentally, I was out doing an oil and filter change on the Z200
yesterday afternoon. Changing the filter entails removing the RH engine
cover, which entails unbolting the kickstart and footrests. None of this
presented any problem, all the bolts came out, nothing sheared or rounded
off. What a nicely-made little bike it is.

The engine's good. The front brake's appalling, as Gyp will testify. And
there was a remarkable assortment of bodge tape, tying wire and rusty things
    inside the headlight.
Can't remember. Might have been black.

They were like that from new. Poxy bloody cable operated disc brake.
That's not unusual for a machine of that age. Sellers sometimes seem
to complain when one starts removing screws to look at stuff, mind.
