'04 R6-600RR-800SS opinions

    Indeed I did. Traded in the 2000 ZZR250 (NSW rego WKU-16), rode out on a
    2002 ZX9R...with shiny new tyres...on wet roads....ink still wet on my full
    license! Scared the shit outta me!

    The learning curve was fairly steep initially, but the bike will only go as
    fast as *you* make it. I just spent the first 6 months or so getting to
    know the machine and growing in confidence. Occasionally I thought I knew
    the '9 better than I really did, got scared, and took it slowly again;
    kinda 3 steps forward, 1 step back.

    I'm not a 20 year old hoon and I think having 10+ years on the road and a
    little maturity before even getting my bike L's helped a bit. I can see
    younger people, with the exuberance of youth, getting into BIG trouble real
    quick making the step I did. Not that I'm superman or Rossi's twin or
    anything, but I have a much stronger sense of "self-preservation" now that
    I didn't have when I was 20 ;)
