As your signature says, did you jump from a ZZR250 to the ZX9R? How was that in terms of the learning curve?
Indeed I did. Traded in the 2000 ZZR250 (NSW rego WKU-16), rode out on a 2002 ZX9R...with shiny new tyres...on wet roads....ink still wet on my full license! Scared the shit outta me! The learning curve was fairly steep initially, but the bike will only go as fast as *you* make it. I just spent the first 6 months or so getting to know the machine and growing in confidence. Occasionally I thought I knew the '9 better than I really did, got scared, and took it slowly again; kinda 3 steps forward, 1 step back. I'm not a 20 year old hoon and I think having 10+ years on the road and a little maturity before even getting my bike L's helped a bit. I can see younger people, with the exuberance of youth, getting into BIG trouble real quick making the step I did. Not that I'm superman or Rossi's twin or anything, but I have a much stronger sense of "self-preservation" now that I didn't have when I was 20 ;) James ZZR250->ZX9R
